What We Loved — One Line Each

• Soneva: Barefoot luxury, observatory with astronomer, chocolate room free — kids stay free under 12, perfect for family splurge.
• Aman Kyoto: Forest silence, onsen at 6am alone, kaiseki that explains Kyoto — best in autumn, book 5 months ahead.
• Four Seasons Bora Bora: Lagoon is absurdly clear, glass floor in overwater, breakfast by canoe ($62).
• Rosewood HK: Harbour view from bed, Asaya spa, staff remembered coffee on day 2.
• Hoshinoya Tokyo: Ryokan in a tower — tatami, kimono, onsen 17th floor with skyline.
• Raffles: Grand lobby, Long Bar but better: Writers Bar, butler who unpacks.
• MBS: Infinity pool is real (we queued 18 min at 7am), but rooms feel dated vs price.
